Kokomo Rescue Mission :: Give
Ways to Give
Here's a bright idea. Give a
gift that costs you less!
No matter what tax bracket you're
in, making a gift of appreciated stock that has been owned long
enough to qualify as long-term property usually costs you less
than giving a gift of cash. Here's why:
*You are entitled to a tax deduction based on the fair
market value of the asset on the date given to the charity, not
on the original value.
*Since the gift is the appreciated asset, not
the proceeds from the asset, you may avoid paying capital gains
tax on the increase on value since the purchase.
*By giving appreciated assets, you can conserve cash for
other purposes and make a significant gift to charity at much
less cost .
*As always, consult your tax advisor before making
decisions about giving assets.

Planned Gifts
Planned gifts include a bequest, gift annuities or a charitable trust.
Planning your estate is a very important element of stewardship.
Often, including a charitable gift in your plans not only
benefits the charity, but provides great benefits to you and your
heirs.
Gifts of Cash
The quickest and easiest way to
help Kokomo Rescue Mission bring hope to people in despair is by
giving an outright gift of cash. You can give now
online through our
secure web server or mail your gift to the address at the bottom
of this page. We will send you a receipt for your tax-deductible
gift. Learn about
other ways you can make a cash donation.
Donate In-kind Gifts
Many individuals and groups
collect certain items needed in the ministry, and donate in-kind
gifts. You can always check our current list of needs, make your collection and drop off the
items at the Mission. Donations of merchandise for our resale stores may also be
dropped off at the warehouse on the north side of the Care and
Share Store parking lot Mon. 9:30 - 4:00, Tues. - Fri 8:00 - 4:00
and Sat. 10:00 am - 2:00 pm.
Why should I give?
When you hear of a homeless
person, you are probably filled with con flicting emotions. Your heart goes out
to them. Yet you know they didn't get there by "accident."
A whole series of events and choices led to their loss of a home
- - and dignity. Without God's grace, each of us could be in the
same situation.
Their physical needs cry out
for food and warmth, a safe place to spend the night, a shelter
from the harshness of street life. We know that their spiritual
needs are just as great. That's why every meal we serve and every
clean bed we provide is the first step toward helping someone in
desperate straits find God.
In 2008 Kokomo Rescue Mission
served 121,501 meals and provided 26,128 nights of shelter for
homeless men, women and children.
A hot meal can provide the
spark of hope that is the beginning step toward a changed life,
but Kokomo Rescue Mission does much more than
serve meals. The shelter programs for both men and women are
designed to provide Bible-based answers to the underlying causes
of homelessness and poverty.
When you give to Kokomo Rescue
Mission, you will know that you have done something to help the
hungry and homeless in our community, yet another of your
neighbors in need. God bless you! Give now online.
